New Medicare Waived CLIA Laboratory Tests Published

image_pdfimage_print

The CLIA regulations require a facility to be appropriately certified for each test performed. To ensure that the Medicare and Medicaid programs only pay for laboratory tests categorized as waived complexity under CLIA in facilities with a CLIA certificate of waiver, laboratory claims are currently edited at the CLIA
certificate level.

    Good day,
I’m a new office manager for a pediatric practice in maryland. We were clia certified just over one year ago. My question to you is whether we have to renew this every year or is the certificate good as long as we practice. Just learning.I can be contacted at laj6jcr@verizon.net Thank you for helping out
