Geriatric

Geriatrics is a branch of medicine that deals with the problems and diseases of old age and aging people.  The term comes from the Greek geron meaning “old man” and iatros meaning “healer”.  Although there is no specific age when one is a geriatric patient, age 65 is typically considered the beginning age when a patient might choose to see a geriatrician.
